Le Rocher Design

This project consisted of space planning and designing of levels 2,3 and 4 of the ASN Co heritage building located at the Rocks, Circular Quay. The aim was to turn the existing levels of
this heritage building into a new proposed "Le Rocher" fine dining bistro which includes an entry way, reception/seating area, commercial kitchen, bar and restaurant eating areas. The client is French chef Guillaume Brahimi who currently owns two bistros in Australia.

The client wanted the proposal to incorporate elements of France and aspects of the heritage building, as well as to provide luxury, intimacy, and quirkiness. The proposal was to encompass all of these features as well as being functional and appropriate within a commercial environment.

To evoke the feelings of intimacy and luxury some of the finishes chosen include brass, leather, black marble, dark timber and several large stylish chandeliers. To maintain a sense of heritage the building, the existing brick walls, columns and beams have been retained. There are also a number of art deco inspired paintings scattered throughout the space which express elements of quirkiness and interest to these areas.
